ROGOZNICA

Rogoznica is located in the very heart of Dalmatia, most beautiful part of Croatia. It is just 30 km south from Šibenik and 50 km north from Split, making it a perfect starting point for daily excursions to a number of destinations on Croatian coast, including Trogir, National Park Krka, NP Kornati, NP Plitvička jezera, Šibenik, Split, and even Dubrovnik.

MARINA FRAPA

Rogoznica is a picturesque village situated on a peninsula, which is the most protruded part of the Croatian mainland, penetrating deeply into the Adriatic Sea. Rogoznica has a 54 kilometer long coastline with magnificent bays and small islands with their intact nature, clean sea, secret beaches and old pine tree woods that just take your breath away. Surrounded by numerous hills, it makes a great destination for an active holiday of hiking or riding bikes. Precisely because of its unique geographic location, Rogoznica is the safest harbour on the Adriatic. It is also a home to one of the best and largest marinas on the Mediterranean – Marina Frapa.

TOURIST DESTINATION

This small Dalmatian town has a rich history too. Once it was a greek colony called Heraclea, a century ago it was a fishermen’s village and today it is a peaceful tourist destination in the rise. With its specific local cuisine and friendly people, it is a place of amazing atmosphere, where you shall feel instantly relaxed and at ease.

PLACES TO VISIT

While here, you should pay a visit to the Church of the Assumption (orig. Crkva Uznesenja Marijina), built in 1746., and the Church of St. Nicholas (orig. Crkva Sv. Nikole) which has been withstanding the test of time since the Middle Ages. You should also visit the salt lake called Dragon’s eye and, if you’re lucky, you may even catch the annual ‘The dragon awakes’ festival – a reconstruction of the old folk story that speaks about the origin of the lake.
